  • Hall Needham officially kicked-off our "Nationals" car show voting for Paul's 1969 Dodge Daytona. Our second celebrity car show vote by Jim Brown was for Scott's 1967 Ford Mustang. Joe E.Tata created a 3 way tie for 1st with his vote for Gary's 1968 Dodge Charger. Mark Hopkins, the 1st of our monthly car judges to vote, was no help in breaking our tie. His vote went to Patrick's 1969 Plymouth GTX, causing a 4 way tie. Richard Miller's vote for the 1969 Daytona broke the tie and the 1969 Daytona regained 1st place. Larry Connally's vote for the 1967 Mustang put the Mustang in a tie for 1st with the 1969 Daytona. Matthew Callahan's vote for Albert's 1959 VW created a 3 way tie for 3rd place between the 1959 VW, the 1968 Charger, and the 1969 GTX. Andy McDonald's vote for Jim's1923 ford T-Bucket made it a 4 way tie for 3rd. Joe Proski, our final clelebrity car show judge, voted for the 1968 Dodge Charger putting the 1968 Charger in a tie for with the 1967 Mustang and the 1969 Daytona. Claude Quenneville's vote for the 1967 Mustang broke the tie, giving sole possession of 1st to the 1967 Mustang. James Mitchell voted for the 1969 Daytona, and it was back to a 2 way tie for 1st with the 1967 Mustang . Hank Cooper's vote for the 1959 VW Bug puts the VW back in 3rd place, within one vote of the leaders, and only 3 votes left to go in the show. Beth Svacina's vote for the 1968 Dodge Charger put us back a 3 way tie for 1st for a 3rd time between the 1968 Charger, the 1967 Mustang, and the 1969 Daytona. Buddy Estes voted for the 1968 Dodge Charger, giving it 1st place by one, with only one vote left. Would and makes it official. Eugene Kretschmer's vote would determine whether the 1968 Dodge Charger would hold on to it's slim lead, or if we have a dead heat for 1st place. His vote went to Mel's 1981 Chevy Corvette, making Gary's 1968 Dodge Charger the winner of MovieVehicles.com's 2002 "Nationals" Car Show by one vote. This left us with a tie for 2nd and 3rd place between the 1969 Daytona and the 1967 Mustang and forcing a special run-off between the 1969 Daytona and the 1967 Mustang. The run-off was just as close as the original show, with Paul's 1969 Daytona taking 2nd place by beating out Scott's 1967 Ford Mustang by 1 vote, 8 to 7. The winner of the 2002 "Nationals" Car Show judges drawing was won by Hank Cooper of Las Vegas, Nevada. Congratulations to all of our winners and a special "Thank You!" to all of the contestants and judges that made our very 1st "Nationals" car show not only a success, but also extremely exciting.
